Yet, with a Gandhian faith in the power of truth,

    mankind continued to hope.

“Every slightest effort at opening up new areas of

thought, every attempt to perceive new aspects of

truth, or just a little truth, is of inestimable value in

preparing the way for the light we cannot see.”

                                A Family Saga

A treatise on truth and love

                                  By: T. D. Duff

THE FIND,  in essence, is a novel of the champions of worker and community ownership, developing a vibrant economic democracy on the Iron Range of Minnesota, that is essential to genuine political democracy and a viable future for humanity.

A treatise on truth and love, THE FIND is about the insidious assault on public assets, and a timely tearing down of the walls of ignorance.

THE FIND’s narrative is so gently morally conscious and so imaginatively supple, that the reader remains enthralled throughout.

A novel of wondrous, contemplative importance. A glowing, redemptive work of literary elocution.

                                    THE FIND

A family saga, political thriller and love story

                                  By: T. D. Duff

The year was 1935, when David Childress came to learn of an incredible discovery. As manager of the Oliver Mines on the Iron Range of Northeastern Minnesota, he learns of a discovery of veins of rich precious metals buried a mile-and-a-half deep in the earth. It’s a discovery known only to him and his friend who found it in a remote unknown section of the Oliver Mines.

Realizing the immense value of what they have secretly discovered, Childress convinces US Steel, the owner of the mining companies, to sell this supposedly useless section of the mine for $10,000.

There’s a hitch to the purchase agreement however!

A codicil to the purchase agreement, states that no operations on the purchased area can begin for 50 years. Much will change over those 50 years, and many dangerous evils will develop.

Now, as THE FIND begins 50 years hence, in 1985, Mary Davies, the youngest child of the Childress family, the only one her father entrusted with the secret discovery of the treasure trove of earth’s riches, must decide, along with her dutiful husband Walter, how to move forward, and bring THE FIND to fruition, against the unconscionable dangers that now confront them.

Powerful, evil forces have discovered the vast riches beyond the iron ore, buried beneath, and they covet the billions in precious resources. They will resort to any means necessary to acquire the ownership rights to THE FIND.

THE FIND is the modern day iteration of the ancient story of creation, that men were mild and good before the age of iron, which had corrupted them, and the age of gold which followed, corrupting man even more, leading to war and greed, the monster crimes of humanity.

THE FIND, is an epic novel of mesmerizing world mystery, deception and deceit, pulse throbbing, intense  political and personal intrigue and spine tingling suspense, that takes the reader on an unforgettable jaw-dropping, judicious journey, from the majestic fir-forested reaches of northern Minnesota, that contains the abundant irony of Iron Ore, that abuts the pristine, wondrous bounty of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, that is alien to oil, to Washington DC, to New York City, to Palm Beach, Florida, to London and Paris, to Geneva, to the Vatican in Rome, and the Swiss Alps.

THE FIND, is a prodigious political thriller, and a compelling family saga of propitious perseverance, and an endearing and enduring love story for all to envelop themselves in.

“The meek shall inherit the earth,” but not the mineral rights. Discover the spell-binding, and timeless truth!
